The
Reverant
The whole world needs the good Shepherd.
Sheep
are totally dependant upon good shepherds who are leading them
right. Shepherds who know where the good, fresh, green grass is
and where to drink fresh and pure water. Shepherds that can protect
the sheep from thieves and dangerous animals.
Ps.
23:1-6
1. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside
the still waters.
3. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness
for His name´s sake.
4. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil, for you are wih me, your rod and our staff,
they comfort me.
5. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies,
you anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over.
6. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my
life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
The
Lord is my Shepherd
David was a king in Israel around 1000 B.C. As a young boy he
was a shepherd to his fathers sheep. He knew what it meant for
the sheep to have a good shepherd. He says, “The Lord is
my shepherd”. In a personal way he proclaimed, “The
Lord is My shepherd.”
The living God, who created heaven and earth was David’s
own shepherd.
The
word of God says in Ps. 40:1-3
1. I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined to me, and
heard my cry.
2. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry
clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps.
3. He has put a new song in my mouth – praise to our God.
David
was so happy, so thankful that the Lord was his shepherd and that
he had rescued him from the miry clay and set his feet upon a
rock.
Matt.
9:35-38
35. Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching
in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and
healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
36. But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion
for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having
no shepherd.
37. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is
plentiful, but the laborers are few.
38. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers
into His harvest.”
Jesus
have seen the multitudes in China, Iran, Saudi-Arabia, Syria,
Indonesia, North-Korea, Burma and many other countries where people
live under persecution, oppression and fear. The good shepherd
sees that the people are like sheep without a shepherd; scratched,
beaten and persecuted.
He knows exactly how each one has it in their despair and longing
for freedom.
Right
now when you are reading you can receive Jesus as your personal
shepherd. You can become his sheep and you can rejoice like David
when he proclaimed. “The Lord is my shepherd.” Then
there will be celebration for you, but I promise that there will
be a celebration in heaven that a sheep have been saved and delivered.
